The East Siberian-Pacific Ocean (ESPO) mix is one of the types of crude oil exported from Russia. This crude oil consists of Vankor oil, a light, low-sulphur oil extracted from certain oil fields in Eastern Siberia, and a mixture of other crude oil types from other oil fields in Russia's Far East region. ESPO crude oil has a higher quality compared to other Russian crude oil types. It is preferred by refineries due to its lower sulfur content and higher API density. ESPO crude oil is also exported to countries such as China, Japan and South Korea as well as other countries to meet the energy needs of countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
